07th Kohitātea 2025, KANE KPS arete General induction update
We would like to inform you that the Kane/arete/KPS induction has been updated to reflect the latest legislation updates and requirements. As a result, all workers on site must complete the updated induction by February 21st, 2025.
Please note that the induction may take some time to complete, and workers will begin this process on January 14h, 2025. It is essential that all workers complete the induction by the specified deadline.
In cases where additional language support is needed, a translator must be present to assist workers during the induction process. The translator will also be responsible for signing off the induction once completed.
We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring this update is completed on time. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out. -

What are other forms of ‘Lifting Equipment’?

‘Other Lifting Equipment’ refers to plant, other than a crane, which has also been designed and manufactured to function as lifting equipment, as well as the function it is primarily intended for.
Plant and/or equipment that is typically considered as ‘Other Lifting Equipment’ includes:
• Earthmoving Plant, such as an Excavator
• Telehandlers
• Forklift

An exclusion zone is a designated area surrounding a hazardous operation or equipment, such as cranes, within which access is restricted to authorised personnel only.
Ngā Āpitihanga :
The primary purpose of an exclusion zone is to protect workers and the public from potential hazards associated with construction activities, particularly those involving heavy machinery and lifting operations.
Exclusion zones should be established around cranes and adjoining areas to stop people entering the area and risk being injured by the crane or falling objects. Exclusion zones should also be considered when lifting near overhead powerline, these are also referred to a no-go zones.
